Sweet Sixteen

What’s so sweet about being 16?
I heard it’s different from being 15,
But I don’t see the difference.

So, what’s sweet 16 about?
So what, I grew an inch or 2.
I am still the same—nothing new.

Why can’t it be sweet 15 or sweet 17?
In my opinion, I think it’s
When you become more of a teen.

But still, what’s so sweet?
Sweet is a small word,
But why is the meaning so big?

I still don’t see what’s the big idea.
I’m just being real.
What’s so sweet about being 16…
I’m still me!
